Capt. Vivek S. Anand is a Shipping, Marine & Logistics Industry veteran who brings with him 45 years of Shipping & Logistics experience. In his last avatar he was a Director, with NYK Line (India) & is also on the Board TMILL (TATA Martrade International Logistics Ltd.), a Tata Group Company as a Promoter Director. In his sea-going and onshore work experience, he has worked with leading global MNCs to scale their operations and establish their footprints in unchartered territories.

Overview


  • Capt. Vivek S. Anand. has visited more than 500 ports and cities worldwide, whilst circumventing the globe 14 times.
  • As a Master Mariner, he has also represented the shipping and marine industry at several leading National and Global forums.
  • He was the first ever Indian to be nominated as the Regional Vice President, FONASBA – Middle East and Indian Sub-Continent by the Global Council of FONASBA.

Keeping in mind his achievements, Capt. Vivek S. Anand was awarded

  • The Winner of All India - “Dynamic Logistics Professional of the Year, 2014” – an Award for Excellence in Maritime & Logistics Sector.
  • Unanimously selected The Mentor of the Year in 2018 by the Jury for the Samudra Manthan Awards, where his contribution to the Shipping, Marine & Logistics Industry stood out & outshone the other nominees.
  • In 2019, he was selected as the “Most Exemplary Multi-faceted Personality of the Year” at the 18th Sailor Today Sea Shore Awards.
He was also appointed by the Hon’ble President of India, as a Member of the Court, University of Pondicherry.
  • In February 2020, The Economic Times invited him to be featured in the Coffee Table Book entitled the “Icons of Shipping & Logistics,” featuring the Top 25 personalities who have hugely influenced & contributed to the growth of the Indian economy. However, being a low-profile person, Capt. Vivek S. Anand opted to be excluded from this very prestigious offer.
  • On the operational front, Capt. Anand, has been part of eleven (11) national-level committees for and on behalf of industry & shipping giants.
  • He also brings to the table extensive sales experience that has helped him fetch new investment opportunities for his organizations. In his career, he has executed contracts worth millions of dollars with/for leading global MNCs, headed JV initiatives, and has been a key member of a Global project with investment worth Billions of dollars in the country.
  • During his stint of four years as MANSA President, he has organized various Conferences on Anti-Trust, Anti-Bribery, Ease of Doing Business, to name a few.
  • He has also been an instrumental advisor to leading National & International Investment Banks, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) & Large Mutual Funds Managers (with a Portfolio of more than US$ 5 Billion) on investment in Shipping and Logistics Sector. The companies include the likes of Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Franklin Templeton, Temasek, among others.
Some of his other notable achievements include:
  • Fellowship of Indian Council Arbitrators.
  • Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigators (UK).
  • Honorary Fellowship of Narottam Morarjee Institute of Shipping (NMIS) in February 2018, for his extensive contribution to the Maritime Industry.
He has authored five whitepapers for the maritime sector to establish policy decisions and enable reforms:
